‘If these walls could talk’. It’s a sentiment we hear often but which has particular relevance for Jessica Bettenay. As Resident Avenue’s senior designer, Jessica’s unique style doesn’t follow any set rules. Rather it is influenced by a space itself; the history and integrity of a building ‘speaks’ to her as soon as she enters a room, guiding her ideas and inspiration.
Jessica applies this approach to every project she takes on, and so it was with the Como House master bedroom suite. Steeped in Australian history, it was the grand space which set the tone for Jessica’s polished design.
The result is a fresh take on a traditional notion of luxury. It’s a merging of old and new, where the new is bold yet refined. It’s where layer upon layer of luxurious texture, sourced from suppliers around the globe, has been carefully curated to reflect a new modern era for Como House.
From the detail in the character-filled tiles to the dreamy opulence of Jean Paul Gaultier sheers, and from the intricacies of hand-tattooed leather to the extravagance of a custom-made armoire, there is considered detail at every point. Jessica’s seamless, multi-layered design provides depth and richness to her unique understanding of this classic Australian home.
